FOMB Board members were presented with the award in a reception and ceremony Monday 4/13/26 at the County Commissioner’s Chambers in Port Orchard. Thanks to FOMB member, Elizabeth Kozleski for nominating us, writing the application and gathering support letters from several influential community leaders.

The Trust Land Transfer Application is moving to the next phase of the application process! Thank you for your letters of support! Through our two letter writing campaigns, we received a total of 66 letters and 25 additional petition signatures showing support. This will have an enormous impact on the success of our application.

In February 2025 Friends of Miller Bay launched an effort to save 40 acres of upland forest above Miller Bay Preserve. After a feasibility study and several meetings with Great Peninsula Conservancy and Kitsap County Parks, we decided to move forward. Kitsap County Parks would be the receiving agency for the land transfer and FOMB would lead the project.
