FOMB Lobbies for ‘Trust Land Transfer’ in Olympia

FOMB Board members were presented with the award in a reception and ceremony Monday 4/13/26 at the County Commissioner’s Chambers in Port Orchard. Thanks to FOMB member, Elizabeth Kozleski for nominating us, writing the application and gathering support letters from several influential community leaders.

Friends of Miller Bay was honored in April with a County “Earth Day Award”, recognizing our many years of preservation and stewardship work, as well as our increased efforts to educate our members and promote community engagement. As “Stewards” this honor means a great deal to us and inspires us to continue our good work.

Home Again: Ospreys of Miller Bay
The loud “thwack” on the deck above me was a jolt out of the tedium of repairs. We had just purchased a house overlooking Miller Bay, and the renovations were in full swing. When I went up to investigate, there was an 8 to 10-inch-long halibut still twitching on the deck… I realized that the welcome present was (accidently) delivered by an Osprey!
